Community guidelines

These are Whoo's house rules for live 3-minute chats, matches and everything after. You agree to them before your first session, and they apply everywhere on Whoo.

Why we have rules

On Whoo you meet people by talking first. There are no photos and no profiles, so the words are everything. These rules keep chats kind, honest and safe for every member, in every country and every language.

They sit alongside our Terms of Service. If something breaks the law where you live, it breaks these rules too.

Be real

Be respectful

Consent comes first

What's never allowed

Protect other people's privacy

Twins follow the same rules

Your Twin is an AI version of you. When your Twin chats for you on Auto-Date (Auto-Hangout in Friends mode), it must follow these rules exactly as you would.

How to report or block

You can report and block in every chat: in a live session, during the 20 seconds between chats, and in an unlocked match chat.

  1. Open the menu in the chat.
  2. Choose Report or Block. You can do both.
  3. If you report, pick a reason and add a few words if you like.

You can also email safety@meetwhoo.com, but reporting in the app is fastest because it links the right chat.

What happens after a report

Reports are reviewed by people, with help from automated tools. Depending on what happened, we may:

Serious breaches, such as threats, exploitation, involving minors or scams, can lead to an immediate permanent ban. A ban applies to the person, not just one account: we may remove other accounts we believe belong to them and stop them from joining again. Where the law requires, or someone is at risk, we may share information with the authorities.

If we act on your account or content, we'll tell you what we did and why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal within 6 months of our decision. Reply to the notice we sent you, or email safety@meetwhoo.com. A person, not just an automated system, will review it. If we were wrong, we'll restore what we removed.

Members in the EU may also have the right to use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or go to court.

Changes

We'll update these guidelines as Whoo grows. If we make an important change, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
