Waitlist and Invite Rules

These rules explain how the Whoo waitlist works, how invites move you up the line, and what they don't do. Joining the waitlist means you agree to them.

Draft for legal review · not yet in effect · last updated 19 October 2026

1. Who runs it

The waitlist and invite programme (the "programme") is run by Xava Labs Hong Kong Limited, 7F, 262 Des Voeux Road West, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong 999077 ("Whoo", "we", "us").

2. Who can join

  1. You must be 18 or older.
  2. You can join from any country, unless the law where you live doesn't allow it.
  3. You need a working email address that you own. Temporary or disposable email addresses aren't accepted.
  4. One seat per inbox. Each person may hold one seat.

3. How joining works

  1. Enter your email on the Whoo website.
  2. We send you a confirmation email. Your seat counts once you click the link in it.
  3. If you don't confirm, your seat doesn't count, and unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after [To confirm with engineering: X] days.

4. How the line works

  1. Your place in line is based on when you confirmed, plus any places you've gained through invites.
  2. When Whoo opens, we invite people in from the front of the line. We may open by country or language, so people in the same place in line may get in at different times.
  3. Your place in line only affects how early you get access. It doesn't affect your plan, price, matches or anything else in the app.
  4. Friends who join with a code start near the front, so your place can move back as others join.

5. The count on the website

We don't show a public waitlist count before launch. Your place in line counts from the first person who joined.

6. Your invite code and link

  1. Once you've confirmed, you get a personal 6-character invite code and a matching link.
  2. You can share them with friends however you like, for example by message or in person.
  3. Only share with people you know who you think would want to hear about Whoo. Don't post your code on coupon or referral-swap sites, or send it to people you don't know.

7. Invite rewards

  1. For your friend: a friend who joins with your code or link starts near the front of the line, in the first 10%.
  2. For you: you move up 10 places in line for each friend who joins with your code or link and confirms their email.
  3. This counts for up to 10 confirmed friends, so you can move up at most 100 places.
  4. Friends can still join with your code after you've reached 10. They still start near the front; you just don't move up more.

8. What doesn't count

9. No prize, no payment

This programme is not a contest, sweepstakes or lottery. There's no prize, no cash and nothing to buy. Your place in line has no cash value and can't be sold, traded or transferred. We don't pay you for invites, and you don't pay to join.

10. Sending invites yourself

Invites come from you, not from Whoo. If you send your link by email or message, you're the sender, and we don't send messages to your friends for you. Please only send invites to people who'd be happy to get them.

[counsel: wording for Germany and other places where referral emails may count as advertising by the company, and whether to add further limits there.]

11. Abuse

We may remove places gained by breaking these rules, cancel invite codes, or remove a seat from the waitlist. We do this if we reasonably believe there were fake, automated or self-referred sign-ups, or another attempt to game the line. If we act on your seat, you can ask us to look again by emailing hello@meetwhoo.com.

12. Changes and ending the programme

We may change these rules, or pause or end the programme, at any time, for example when Whoo launches. If we make a change that affects your place in line, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Places you've fairly earned before a change won't be taken away because of it.

13. Emails and leaving

We'll email you about your seat, your place in line and Whoo's launch. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the emails; your seat and place in line stay.

14. Your privacy

We use your email to run the waitlist and tell you about Whoo's launch. How long we keep it: Until 6 months after launch, or sooner if you ask us to delete your seat. Unsubscribing stops emails but keeps your seat. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after [To confirm with engineering: X] days. To delete your seat, email privacy@meetwhoo.com. When a friend joins with your code, we link the two seats so we can count the invite. We don't tell your friend your place in line, or you theirs. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
