Your Privacy Choices

This page is for people in US states with privacy laws, like California. It explains the choices you have about your personal information at Whoo and how to use them.

Draft for legal review · not yet in effect · last updated 19 October 2026

1. We don't sell or share your personal information

Whoo does not sell your personal information. We don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, which means ads targeted using what you do on other apps and sites.

We don't show ads based on your data, and our apps don't use advertising trackers. So there's nothing to opt out of here, but you can still send us an opt-out request and we'll record it.

2. Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information

Some laws give you the right to limit how a company uses sensitive personal information. At Whoo, that can include:

We only use sensitive personal information for purposes the law allows without a limit request. That means providing the service you asked for, keeping Whoo safe and secure, preventing fraud, and meeting legal obligations. We don't use it to infer things about you for other purposes.

Because of this, a request to limit won't change how Whoo works for you. You can still make one, and we'll record it.

3. Global Privacy Control

If your browser or device sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser or device. If you're signed in, we apply it to your account too. You don't need to do anything else.

4. Controls in the app

5. Your other rights

Depending on your state, you can also ask us to:

We won't charge you more or treat you differently for using any of these rights. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

6. How to make a request

7. Authorised agents

You can ask someone else to make a request for you. We'll ask the agent for proof that you've given them permission, such as a signed authorisation. We may also ask you to confirm your identity with us directly, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney.

8. How we verify requests

We need to know a request really comes from you before we share or delete anything. Requests made while signed in to the app are usually verified already. For email requests, we'll ask you to confirm from the contact details on your account. We only use the details you give us for verification to verify you.

Opt-out and limit requests don't need verification.

9. How long we take

We confirm we've received your request within 10 business days. We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why and may take up to 45 more days where the law allows. Opt-out requests are applied as soon as we can, and within 15 business days.

10. Appeals

If we turn down your request, you can appeal. Reply to our response, or email privacy@meetwhoo.com with "Appeal" in the subject. We'll answer within the time your state's law sets and explain our reasons. If you're still unhappy, you can contact your state attorney general.
